This is a Consent Agreement and Final Order between US EPA and Big Red Construction (Respondent) of Lafayette, California, for Respondent's alleged violations of the federal Toxic Substances Control Act requirements 1) that a person who performs for compensation a renovation of target housing (constructed prior to 1978) and child-occupied facilities to provide a lead hazard information pamphlet to the owner and occupant before beginning the renovation, and 2) for EPA certification of individuals and firms engaged in lead-based paint activities, and work practice standards for renovation, repair, and painting activities in target housing and child-occupied facilities. Respondent agreed to pay a civil penalty of $3,000 and certified to EPA that it is now in compliance with the specified regulations.
