On July 29, 2019, EPA filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) to resolve allegations that Ayers Basement Systems LLC (Respondent) of Lansing, Michigan, performed a lead-based paint renovation at target housing without complying with lead-safe work practices of covering the floor and cleaning the work area after the renovation had been completed, in violation of 40 C.F.R. Section 745.85. The CAFO required Respondent to comply with the Toxic Substances Control Act and the Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule, and to pay a civil penalty of $9,450.
