On August 2, 2019, Region 2 entered into an Administrative Order and Settlement Agreement (AOC) with the Respondent and several affiliated real estate entities for the design of an upgrade for their aging bulkhead at the Gowanus Canal Superfund Site, located in Brooklyn, New York. A new bulkhead is needed to provide support for the dredging and capping of the Canal, which is expected to begin in the summer of 2020. It will also support planned redevelopment work at the property, which is in the state Brownfields Cleanup Program. The work under the AOC is valued at $250,000.
