On August 19, 2019, EPA filed a consent agreement and final order settling lead-based paint violations with City Wide Decorators for RRP violations at three homes and a condominium complex in Virginia. The firm violated the RRP Rule by not having certified renovators in the firm at the time of renovation of the target housing. Review of the Respondent's files showed that the Respondent had not complied with the RRP Rules' requirement to document its distribution of the EPA's Lead Hazard Information Pamphlet prior to the renovations commencing and the requirement to retain records demonstrating that it had complied with work practice rules. The Respondent will pay a $25,000 penalty over twelve months. The Region notified the State on May 22, 2019 that the Region was going to initiate an enforcement action against the firm.
