On August 27, 2019, Region 1 reached an expedited settlement agreement with Nouria Energy Corp. of Worcester, Massachusetts under which the company agrees to pay a $1,000 penalty for noncompliance with the Oil Pollution Prevention regulations promulgated under Section 311 of the Clean Water Act. The company failed to fully implement a Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plan at its Winslow, Maine facility.
