On September 25, 2019, EPA issued a Clean Water Act Administrative Order (AO) to the Town of North Brookfield, Massachusetts for violations of the effluent limits contained within its NPDES permit. The Town owns and operates a wastewater treatment facility that discharges wastewater to the Forget Me Not River. The AO requires the Town to submit an engineering report with a schedule for upgrades that will bring the wastewater treatment facility into compliance with its NPDES permit.
