Region 10 Settles with Coleman Oil Company, LLC (Lewiston, ID) for CWA Violations
On November 22, 2019, Region 10 filed a consent agreement and final order resolving violations of the
Clean Water Act by Coleman Oil Company, LLC, located in Lewiston, Idaho. Respondent operated an
oil bulk terminal in Wenatchee, Washington that discharged oil to the Columbia River from leaky
underground oil piping in violation of the Clean Water Act. The Columbia River is a highly valued
surface water in the Pacific Northwest. The company continues to implement remedial actions under
the State of Washington Department of Ecology's toxic cleanup program. The company agreed to pay a
penalty of $159,000 for these discharge violations.
