On October 15, Region 3 issued a NORA to Thermo Fisher Scientific, LLC. through the Port of Baltimore for importing five water purifying devices that claimed to kill bacteria with UV light. These pesticide devices were not produced in an EPA-registered establishment and did not meet FIFRA labeling requirements. It is a violation of FIFRA to sell or distribute misbranded pesticides. The violation was discovered through spot-checks of U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Automated Commercial Environment database which contains information on all product being imported into the U.S.
