On December 19, 2019, the Region issued an Administrative Compliance Order requiring the town of Southbridge, Massachusetts to adopt the ordinance or regulatory authority required by the 2003 General Permits for Stormwater Discharges from Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) in Massachusetts by June 30, 2020. This ordinance relates to authority necessary to fully implement the Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination, Construction/Erosion and Sediment Control, and Post-Construction Stormwater Management programs under the MS4 Permit. The Region coordinated closely with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection on this matter.
