On December 30, 2019, EPA Region III filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) regarding Storm Oil, LLC, located at 11401 Somerset Avenue, Beltsville, Maryland. The CAFO addresses a spill from the Beltsville location to a water of the United States and violations of the Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure requirements. The settlement requires a payment of $42,237.00, to be paid in installments over eighteen months due to Respondent's financial condition. Interest totaling $303.90 will be assessed on the penalty as it is being paid in installments. As a Clean Water Act Class II penalty action, the settlement was subject to public comment, but no comments were received. This matter was referred to EPA by the Maryland Department to the Environment.
