On March 11, 2020, EPA and New England Industrial Uniform Rental Services, Inc. (NE Uniform Service) settled a CAA administrative penalty case for alleged violations of two federally enforceable Massachusetts state implementation plan (SIP) permit regulations at the company's industrial laundry facility in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Under the settlement, NE Uniform Service will comply with various laundry process restrictions that will reduce volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions at the facility and will apply for required state air permits containing these restrictions. The company will also pay a $51,700 settlement penalty. The settlement Consent Agreement and Final Order, which was fully signed and filed on March 11, 2020, both initiated and concluded this CAA enforcement action.
