On June 17, 2020, the EPA issued an Administrative Order on Consent (AOC) with the Manda, Hidatsa and Arikara (MHA) Nation to address Clean Water Act stormwater violations at Lakeview Aggregates, a decommissioned sand and gravel facility adjacent to Lake Sakakawea. The AOC requires the MHA Nation to comply with the Construction Stormwater General Permit, including all requirements relating to developing and implementing a stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP), implementing BMPs, conducting inspections, implementing corrective actions, and submitting a Notice of Termination once the facility is stabilized.
