The United States Environmental Protection Agency, Region 9 (EPA) issued this administrative order (Order) to North Edwards Water District, under section 1414(g) of the federal Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), to bring the North Edwards Water District public water system (PWS ID CA1510052), into compliance with SDWA's arsenic maximum contaminant level. This enforcement action was referred to EPA by the State of California. The NEWD PWS is a community water system serving approximately 600 customers in North Edwards, Kern County, CA. The Order requires the Respondent to comply with the arsenic MCL and monitoring requirements, with a final compliance deadline of April 30, 2023.
