This Settlement Agreement provides for the performance of Work by DOT&PF
and the payment of certain response costs incurred by EPA at or in connection with DOT&PF?s
planning, studies and site preparation for the proposed Alaska Marine Highway System
(?AMHS?) Ward Cove Marine Facility Project (?Ward Cove Marine Facility?) in order to
address potential material damage to the Sediment Cap and to ensure compliance with the
Institutional Controls (ICs) called for by the 2000 Record of Decision (ROD) within the Marine
Operable Unit (OU) of the Ketchikan Pulp Company Site
