On June 25, 2020, after prefiling negotiations, Region 1 filed a CAFO to initiate and resolve a case against Chemco Corporation of Lawrence, Massachusetts. This case involves alleged violations of FIFRA registration and labeling requirements on multiple occasions in 2018 and 2019. The violations were identified through inspections conducted by the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources and related to Chemco's distribution or sale of several pesticide products used as sanitizers. Under the CAFO, Chemco agreed to certify to current FIFRA compliance and pay a $56,543 penalty over 90 days based, in part, on considerations of ability to pay.
