The facility paid $102,700 civil penalty. The facility estimated at a minimum of $250,000 for the injunctive relief cost, including purchasing field testing equipment and performing laboratory tests. Environmental benefit is estimated to be 250,000 gallon of hazardous waste per year prevented from being released into the environment at the Safety-Kleen Los Angeles facility. The injunctive relief will be implemented at all Safety-Kleen locations in Region 9 that perform the aqueous parts wash operation as well as other locations that perform the similar operations nation wide.
