On September 8, Region 3 issued a Notice of Refusal of Admissions (NORA) to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to refuse admission of an unregistered pesticide imported by UPS Supply Chain through UPS Philadelphia Airport Hub. The product Planosil was described as a dental unit waterline disinfectant. Under FIFRA, Disinfection is a pesticidal claim, and all products making pesticidal claims must be registered with the EPA before they can be sold or distributed. This product was not registered and the importer has the option to export or destroy the product.
