On November 6, 2020, EPA issued a Clean Water Act Administrative Order (Order) to the City of Chicopee, Massachusetts for violations of its NPDES permit. The City owns and operates a wastewater treatment facility which has discharged pollutants to the Connecticut River in excess of its permitted levels. The Order requires the City to provide an engineering report that outlines the work needed to return the facility to compliance as well as a schedule for that work.
