On December 16, 2020, a U.S. Magistrate Judge signed an ex parte administrative warrant granting EPA access for one year, starting on March 1, 2021 and ending on February 28, 2022, at the Railroad Salvage/Griswold Cotton Mill Site in Montague, Massachusetts. This warrant is necessary because the Agency is unable to locate anyone who can provide voluntary access to the Site. EPA requests access to perform a removal action to address, among other things, asbestos following a fire at the Site. EPA has been working closely with the Commonwealth and with the Town of Montague on this planned removal action.
