On April 7, 2021, EPA issued a Clean Air Act Administrative Order (AO) to Gold Medal Bakery, Inc. (Gold Medal Bakery) of Fall River, Massachusetts. Gold Medal Bakery is a bakery manufacturer, distributor, co-packer and wholesaler of bread products. EPA identified violations of the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for stationary reciprocating internal combustion engines, found at 40 CFR Part 63, Subpart ZZZZ, through a review of the company's emissions test report for the two engines maintained by the company. The AO requires Gold Medal Bakery to comply with various notification, reporting and work practice requirements and to prepare and submit to EPA a site-specific monitoring plan in accordance with the NESHAP Subpart ZZZZ requirements.
