On 07/01/2021 Region 5 executed a Consent Agreement and Final Order. In it Region 5 alleges that Steel Dynamics, Inc. failed to correctly identify hazardous waste as required, additionally Steel Dynamics, Inc. failed to correctly identify the hazardous waste in export documents and subsequently shipped across transnational boundaries without appropriate notification to U.S. EPA. Steel Dynamics, Inc. will pay a fine of $20,000.
