Administrative Order and Settlement Agreement under CERCLA with five Respondents, all redevelopment entities, for the upgrade of an aging bulkhead at four adjoining properties at the Gowanus Canal Superfund Site in Brooklyn, New York. This is one in a series of new bulkheads needed to provide structural support for the dredging and capping of the Canal, which began in November 2020 and is ongoing. The new bulkhead is also a sealed contaminant wall to prevent migration of upland contamination from the properties, located on Smith Street, which are being remediated under the state's brownfields program for commercial redevelopment. The work under the AOC is valued at $10,000,000.
