On July 19, Region 3 issued a FIFRA Notice of Warning (NOW) to Textile Field USA, LLC of Greensboro, NC for sale and distribution of an unregistered pesticides imported through the Port of Norfolk-Newport News, VA. The shipment contained alcohol wipes that make claims to kill germs and disinfect, which made the product a pesticide requiring registration under FIFRA. The unregistered pesticide was imported to the company's Greensboro, NC facility to relabel the product and remove the pesticidal claims. FIFRA violations are exempt from EJ screen. FDA was consulted before the product was relabeled, the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services was alerted to the violative import shipment, and EPA Region 4 was alerted of the NOW.
