On July 19, Region 3 issued a Notice of Refusal of Admission (NORA) to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to refuse admission of an unregistered mosquito repellent pesticide imported by KVDAR, Inc., through the port of Philadelphia, PA. The importer has the option to remove the product from the shipment and either destroy it according to federal and local regulations, or to export it to the country of origin; and must demonstrate the product was either destroyed or exported. The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture was copied on the NORA.
