On September 14, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Section 301 of the Clean Water Act, 33 U.S.C. 1311, to the City of Tucumcari (Respondent) located in Quay County, New Mexico. The AO was issued in response to National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit violations of Nitrogen and Phosphorus. The AO requires Respondent to achieve compliance with the NPDES Permit limits within 30 days. Respondent must respond in writing to EPA Region 6 within 30 days of the effective date of the AO.
