On August 30, 2021, EPA inspected the City's CSS and identified violations of the City's NJPDES Permit including failure to implement proper Operate and Maintain the system, including net failures, overflows, tidal intrusion and failure to implement a complete preventative maintenance program for critical infrastructure. The Order requires the City to address NJPDES Permit noncompliance in accordance with a compliance schedule.
