Region 8 Finalized a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) with Targa Badlands LLC (Targa) Settling Violations of the Clean Air Act (CAA) at Several Facilities Located on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation (FBIR). On December 14, 2021, EPA and Targa finalized the CAFO under CAA section 113(d). The CAFO settles several CAA violations at the Blue Buttes, Clark?s Creek, Junction, Johnson and TAT-Blue Buttes Compressor Stations, located on the FBIR, discovered during a routine, onsite inspection in 2020. Settled violations include CAA Title V permitting, New Source Performance, and National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants. Targa agreed to pay a civil penalty of $250,000 to settle the alleged violations.
