On 3/8/22, Region 10 filed an Expedited Settlement Agreement with Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson
and 673d Air Base Wing (JBER) to address Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)
violations at its facility at 11735 Vandenberg Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska. The violations included
Failure to Label Universal Waste Lamps, Failure to demonstrate the length of time that universal waste
has been accumulated, Failure to Properly Store Universal Waste, and Failure to Comply with
Universal Waste Training Requirements. Under the terms of the Agreement, JBER has addressed the
violations and will pay a civil penalty of $6,000.
