On February 22, 2022, Region 10 issued an administrative order on consent to City of Tensed for its
Wastewater Treatment Facility in Tensed Idaho. The City of Tensed failed to meet effluent standards
for of Total Suspended Solids, Total Residual Chlorine, E. coli Bacteria, and Biochemical Oxygen
Demand. Additionally, they failed to adequately and timely summarize monitoring results, failed to
maintain proper sample preservation temperatures, failed to develop a Quality Assurance Plan, failed to
update the Operations and Maintenance Plan, failed to develop an Emergency Response and Public
Notification Plan, and failed to develop a Facility Plan. To return to compliance, the Respondent has
agreed to updated plans and improve BMP's to return to compliance.
