On April 26, 2022, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Section 1421 of the Safe Drinking Water Act to Performance Petroleum Co. located in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. The Proposed AO was issued in response to violations of successfully demonstrate mechanical integrity and (40 C.F.R. Sections 147.2903(b) and 147.2920(b). The Proposed AO requires Performance Petroleum Co. to successfully demonstrate mechanical integrity of the well; plug the well; or convert the well to production. Performance Petroleum Co. must respond to EPA Region 6 within 30 days of receiving the Proposed AO.
