On April 28, 2022, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Section 1421 of the Safe Drinking Water Act to MIGWIS Operating, LLC located in Cushing, OK. The AO was issued in response to violations of 40 C.F.R. Sections 147.2903, 147.2907, and 147.2909 through 147.2918. The AO requires MIGWIS Operating, LLC to to successfully demonstrate mechanical integrity of the well; plug the well; or convert the well to production. MIGWIS Operating, LLC must respond to EPA Region 6 within 30 days of receiving the AO.
