On February 16, 2022, EPA issued an Administrative Compliance Order (Order) under Section 113(a)(3) of the Clean Air Act to Strive Construction, LLC. Strive was cited as an operator of a regulated demolition for failing to provide EPA with notification at least 10 days before demolition work began at a mixed-use facility located at 663 Admiral Street in Providence, Rhode Island. The Order requires Strive to immediately comply with the Clean Air Act Asbestos NESHAP. The action addresses work that began on September 8, 2021. The facility is located in an area where EJ SCREEN identified several environmental justice indicators above the 80th percentile nationally. The Rhode Island Department of Health is aware and supportive of these actions.
