JUNE 13, 2025 - CONSENT DECREE - The PPC Remedial Action settlement will address Operable Units (OU) 1, 2, and 3 (Interim) through implementing excavation, In-situ Solidification and Stabilization (ISS), and limited groundwater recovery and monitoring. This work will proceed following the demolition of multiple onsite small-bay warehouse buildings that were built over two former process waste disposal pits dating back to the 1950s. The PPC remedy will solidify and immobilize the site soil/sludge contamination and effectively eliminate this contamination from acting as a source to groundwater. The setting parties include both private and state/federal governmental entities, with a significant portion of the remedial action funding coming from the State of Florida Inland Protection Trust Fund (IPTF) related to it Early Detection Incentive (EDI) petroleum programs. The Remedial Action Consent Decree in this matter was entered by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division, on June 13, 2025.
