On April 29, 2022, EPA Region 10 filed an Expedited Settlement Agreement (ESA) with OBI Seafoods to address Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) violations at its facility in Kodiak, Alaska. The violations involve failure to ensure delivery of hazardous waste to an allowable offsite treatment, storage and disposal facility and failure to mark or label containers of used oil. Under the terms of the Agreement, OBI Seafoods certified it has corrected the RCRA violations and will pay a $2,500 civil penalty within 30 days.
