On April 18, 2022, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order under its authority pursuant to Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Coffield Michael Unit, in Tennessee Colony, Texas. The AO was issued in response to violations of the SDWA, specifically, the Risk and Resilience Rule requirements. The AO requires the Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Coffield Michael Unit water system to conduct a risk and resilience assessment (RRA) and revise or develop an emergency response plan (ERP) and certify to EPA that an RRA and ERP were conducted. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Coffield Michael Unit must respond to EPA Region 6 by May 18, 2022.
