On April 7, 2022, Region 3 ECAD RCRA Section entered into a consent agreement and final order with KVK Tech, Inc., settling alleged violations of RCRA Subtitle C. The facility manufactures and develops FDA-approved generic pharmaceuticals. KVK Tech, Inc. also packages and distributes their products within the US. EPA determined that the facility violated the hazardous waste regulations by failing to: have a contingency plan, Job Descriptions that describe hazardous waste duties, and submit a biennial report. Region 3 notified Pennsylvania, which had no objections to this action. Per the terms of the Consent Agreement, KVK Tech, Inc. has paid a civil penalty of $6,250.
