On May 23, Region 3 issued a Notice of Refusal of Admission (NORA) to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to refuse admission of a misbranded pesticide device imported by Valeo Thermal Commercial Vehicles through the port of Norfolk-Newport News,
VA. It is a violation of FIFRA to sell or distribute a misbranded pesticide device. In reply, the importer has stated that it will destroy the violative device, and the importer must provide EPA the information documenting the destruction. The Virginia Department of Agriculture
and Consumer Services was copied on the NORA, and FIFRA misbranding violations are exempt from EJ screen.
