On August 15, 2022, EPA Region 6 issued a Final Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Section 1421 of the Safe Drinking Water Act to Performance Energy Resources, LLC (Respondent) located in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. The AO was issued in response to violations of 40 C.F.R. Sections147.2903(b) and 147.2920(b). The AO requires Respondent to successfully demonstrate mechanical integrity of the well; plug the well; or convert the well to production. Respondent must respond to EPA Region 6 within 30 days of receiving the AO.
