On November 2, 2022, EPA Region 10 filed an expedited settlement agreement resolving violations of the Construction General Permit by McWilliams Road LLC, located in Mercer Island, Washington. McWilliams Road LLC is the owner and operator of the Preserve at Illahee Springs construction site located in Bremerton, Washington, and failed to develop a complete Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), perform and document Best Management Practice (BMP) maintenance, and make records accessible. This enforcement action stands to prevent the discharge of more than 120 tons of sediment into Puget Sound. The Respondent has agreed to pay a penalty of $2,640 and has returned to compliance. The estimated cost of injunctive relief is $3,200.
