PPG acquired Milamar from DalFort Capital Partners in a stock acquisition on February 22, 2021. In May 2021, subsequent to the acquisition closing, PPG initiated an environmental compliance audit of the facility, which was designed as a systematic and objective review of operations and practices related to meeting environmental requirements and compliance with applicable environmental regulations. On June 11, 2021, the audit identified potential violations of the Clean Water Act and the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act. PPG initially disclosed the potential violations via letter to EPA dated June 25, 2021. A Notice of Determination was issued by EPA Region 6 on July 26, 2022.
