On December 7, 2022, EPA Region 6 issued a Final Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Section 1421 of the Safe Drinking Water Act to Hard Rock Operating, LLC located in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. The AO was issued in response to violations of: 40 C.F.R. Sections 147.2903(b) and 147.2920(b). The AO requires the Respondent to successfully demonstrate mechanical integrity of the well; plug the well; or convert the well to production. The Respondent must respond to EPA Region 6 within 30 days of receiving the Proposed AO.
