## Summary

On September 28, 2022, EPA issued a Clean Water Act (CWA) Administrative Order (AO) to the town of Auburn, New Hampshire for violations of the dry-weather outfall screening requirements of the town's municipal separate stormwater sewer system (MS4) permit. The MS4 permittee covered by the 2017 MS4 Permit in New Hampshire was required to complete screening of all stormwater outfalls/interconnections (with limited exceptions) for the presence of dry-weather flow by July 1, 2021. The community listed above has not completed such screening. The AO requires the permittee to complete dry-weather outfall screening by a specific date, or to submit a schedule by which they intend to complete such screening and to implement that schedule. EPA implements the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program in New Hampshire and issued the 2017 MS4 Permit in New Hampshire. EPA has coordinated with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services on this matter.
