On December 22 Region 3 issued a Notice of Refusal of Admission (NORA) to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to refuse admission of a misbranded pesticide device by Biozone Scientific America, LLC through the port of Baltimore, MD. It is a violation of FIFRA to sell or distribute misbranded pesticides devices, and this air purifier had false and misleading claims. The importer has the option to export or destroy the violative product, and must provide to EPA documentation of the action. The Maryland Department of Agriculture was copied on the NORA, and FIFRA registration violations are exempt from EJ screen.
