On January 23, 2023, EPA Region 1 issued a Stop Sale, Use, Or Removal Order (SSURO) to Astec Bio USA Inc. (Astec Bio USA) located in Hingham, Massachusetts. The SSURO is based on FIFRA violations related to the sale and distribution of unregistered pesticides as well as the failure to file Notices of Arrival for the importation of pesticide products. EPA has reason to believe that Astec Bio USA imported, sold, and distributed unregistered disinfectant products to customers in the In-Vitro Fertilization industry. There are no known environmental justice issues associated with Astec Bio USA.
