On June 9, 2023, EPA Region 6 issued a Consent Agreement and Final Order to Lehigh White Cement Company of Woodway, TX, for four alleged violations of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). The EPA alleges that Lehigh violated Section 15 of TSCA by failing to submit reports for the following chemicals, as required under the 2020 Chemical Data Reporting (CDR) rule:
1. Calcium oxide silicate (Ca3O(SiO4))
2. Silicic acid (H4SiO4), calcium salt (1:2)
3. Aluminum calcium oxide (Al2Ca3O6)
4. Aluminum calcium iron oxide (AlCa2FeO5)
Lehigh has corrected the alleged violations and will pay a civil penalty of $40,000.
