On September 14, 2023, Region 10 filed a consent agreement and final order resolving violations of the Clean Water Act by D.R Johnson Lumber Company for its facility in Riddle, Oregon. D.R. Johnson Lumber Company failed to identify an outfall in their Stormwater Pollution Control Plan (SWPCP). Additionally, the facility failed to monitor and conduct sampling of benchmark pollutants for the outfall. The facility discharged to Judd Creek which flows to the South Umpqua River, which is impaired for fish and aquatic life, water contact recreation, boating and aesthetic quality uses. The Respondent has agreed to pay a penalty of $49,948 and has returned to compliance. The estimated cost of implementing this injunctive relief is $5000.
