On September 11, 2023, EPA Region 10 filed an expedited settlement agreement resolving violations of the Construction General Permit by Lennar Northwest, LLC located in Vancouver, Washington. Lennar Northwest, LLC is the owner and operator of the Ridgefield Heights construction site and failed to install and maintain Best Management Practices (BMPs), such as erosion and stormwater control measures, which can lead to turbid runoff from the property. EPA estimates that this action has helped reduce 282,552 lbs of sediment from discharging off-site and reaching Gee Creek. The Respondent has agreed to pay a penalty of $3,900 and has returned to compliance.
