On September 22, 2023, Region 10 filed a consent agreement and final order ( CAFO ) resolving CWA violations by American Seafoods LLC and Northern Eagle LLC ( Respondents ) for their vessel homeported in Seattle, Washington. Respondents violated their NPDES General Permit for Offshore Seafood Processors in Federal Waters Off the Washington and Oregon Coast, including discharging seafood waste in prohibited areas; failing to monitor and sample; failing to submit DMRs; and failing to submit accurate and complete production and discharge information in annual reports between 2019 and 2022. Under the terms of the CAFO, Respondents have agreed to pay a civil penalty of $240,000 and are under a separate administrative order to return to compliance.
