On September 12, 2023, a Consent Agreement and Final Order was filed simultaneously commencing and concluding an administrative action proceeding against SDG Design & Construction LLC for alleged violations of TSCA and EPA's RRP Rule in connection with five (5) renovations that were performed in Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 2021. These renovations were featured on individual episodes of the DIY Network TV show Stone House Revival. The alleged violations include failing to obtain initial firm certification, failing to ensure certified renovators were assigned, failing to provide owners with an EPA-approved lead hazard pamphlet, failing to demonstrate compliance with work practices, failing to post warning signs, failing to confine the work area, failing to cover the floor surface area, and failing to contain waste. Exposure to lead can result in increased blood pressure, decreased kidney functions and reproductive problems in adults, and is particularly harmful to children and pregnant women. Per the terms of the Consent Agreement and Final Order, Respondent will pay a civil penalty in the amount of $2,500. The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry's Bureau of Occupational & Industrial Safety was notified and did not object to this action.
