On December 18, 2023, EPA Region 10 filed an expedited settlement agreement resolving violations of the Industrial Stormwater General Permit by Parrott's B and B Welding, located in Enumclaw, Washington. The Respondent is the owner and operator of an industrial facility requiring permit coverage. The Respondent failed to obtain required permit coverage and institute a stormwater management program at their facility. Obtaining permit coverage and instituting a stormwater pollution prevention program will control and limit the discharge of pollutants into Waters of the United States. EPA estimates that this action has helped reduce 791 lbs of sediment from discharging off-site and reaching Watercress Creek The Respondent has agreed to pay a penalty of $5,000 and has returned to compliance. The facility is in an area with environmental justice concerns.
